I support Dr. Ron Paul because of his belief that a government should be held captive to its constitution. The recent idea of a living constitution has been used to promote or reject any idea using ill defined concepts and hiding behind our most fundamental law. A great example is the claim that laws banning saggy pants are unconstitutional, violating both the First and Fourteenth Amendments. Perhaps one imagines that any sort of self expression is garanteed by the First and uses the anti discrimination clause in the Fourteenth. That person has just provided a suitable basis for the unconstitutionality of laws against baggy pants. Anyone who can read at an 8th grade level can see that it is a far stretch to find a constitutional right to baggy/backside revealing clothes. Whether or not is is a municipality's responsibility to provide a dress code is not the point, the point is our constitution was meant to protect basic rights, not provide an easy shield for any action or behavior. Ron Paul also votes against giving the government power that is not given in the Constitution. He opposed the Homeland Security Bill that authorizes forced smallpox vaccinations. Homeland Security Bill, H.R. 5005 section 304. If you want someone who champions the idea of personal Liberty Ron Paul is your guy.

The EU Commission Resigns!
Due to widespread fraud and corruption the entire EU Commission resigned on Tuesday. No, really they did. On Tuesday March 16, 1999 the EU Commission left post due to allegations of fraud and the urging of the EU Parliments' largest party, the Socialist Party. Originally only French commissioner Édith Cresson was implicated, she however refused to step down alone saying other Commissioners were just as involved. That's right Edith bring an international institution down with you. This follows a vote of no confidence by MEP's in Dec. '98. I must say it is a sorry day when a leftist regime is kicked out by Socialists. This Date underscores a serious flaw in European decision making. The power to make laws must never rest in the hands of unelected people.

Why the Brits?
You'll notice two clips have UKIP's speaking in them. Mabye I'm in a British mood. More importantly they are both speaking in the European Parlament either exposing corruption or a fatal (to Member States) flaw. It's scarry how even though many of these reforms the EU proposes are against public sentiment they are still carried out. How can a nation surrender it's authority to another power. As an American it is incomprehensible to me.

Geography is Important!
I am horified. I just found out that National Geographic ran a survey that seems to show most young Americans as geographically illiterate. 89% of Americans 18 - 24 could find our country on a map, but only 56% could find Italy. Look for the boot people! Only 17% could find Afganistan. We Just Invaded Them!!! A map of their country was flashed on CNN 40 times a day. Oh I almost forgot, half can't find New York on a map. Thanks for visiting. It seems nearly everywhere you look, someone is losing freedom of one sort or the other. The freedom of privacy, of individual justice or even the freedom of speech and religion. Sometimes all it seems to take to prove this point is to express personal faith in the public sphere. Sit back and watch as the ACLU or some other far left organization to come out yelling "Woe, Woe and Thrice Woe! This can not be tolerated." What can not be tolerated is the decimation of our Judeo Christian heratige and American work ethic. Ideas come for a while and they go, but we must take care to not be fooled by the intelectual fads of this present Age. Christianity and Piety are not dangerous or extreme, Government can not make families stronger or create wealth and Providence has shined favorably on America.
